Join a guided Northern Lights hunt from Tromsø with transport, a cozy campfire stop in nature, and digital photos included. Small group experience with knowledgeable local guide.
This evening tour begins in central Tromsø with a short introduction to the aurora borealis, including a video, weather forecast, and safety briefing. Depending on the conditions, your group will drive between 40 minutes and 2.5 hours to reach the optimal viewing area.
Once there, your guide will light a Norwegian-style campfire. Reindeer hides offer warmth as you relax with a hot drink under the open Arctic sky. Your guide will take photos throughout the night, which you'll receive digitally within 48 hours.
With a maximum group size of 12, this experience ensures a more personal and quiet setting. The tour is designed to be eco-conscious, using reusable cups, wooden stirrers, and plastic-free food packaging. After the activity, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in central Tromsø.
Meeting point is at 6:30 PM at the Northern Norway Travel Shop, Tromsø Havn Prostneset (opposite Clarion The Edge). Please dress warmly in layers (wool base layers, hat, gloves, winter coat, and boots recommended). Bring a reusable water bottle, your camera, and your passport/ID in case the route takes you into Finland. A minimum of 4 participants is required. Sightings of the Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed. Tour may include a short walk on icy terrain – spikes are advised. Only one toilet stop is guaranteed at the start.
